Volunteer camp hosts – The Lea, Tasmania – $110 daily honorarium plus super

The Lea is looking for help over the summer months to run our summer camping, which is a major fundraising activity for The Lea and Scouts Tasmania. 

Volunteer Camp Host/s 

Duties include: 

• Welcoming guests, taking payments and general supervision of site. 
• General site tidying on daily basis 
• Cleaning of amenity Block & Communal Rotunda area (an honorarium of $110 (plus super) per day is paid for this) 

A Current National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People Card is required

The Lea is looking for friendly and reliable camp hosts to help run its summer camping program from 1 December 2026 through to 31 March 2027.

Summer camping is a major fundraising activity for The Lea and Scouts Tasmania, and this is a great opportunity to combine a camping experience with some part-time involvement in a welcoming community environment.

Camp host duties include:

✅ Welcoming guests and helping them settle in
✅ Taking payments
✅ General supervision of the site
✅ Daily site tidying
✅ Cleaning the amenities block and communal rotunda area

An honorarium of $110 per day plus superannuation is paid for the cleaning of the amenities block and communal rotunda.

✅ Private toilet and shower facilities
✅ Phone with internet access
✅ Space to set up your own caravan or camper beside the office

You can take on the role on your own, as a couple, or as a family and combine some part-time responsibilities with an enjoyable summer camping experience.

Volunteers are not required to remain onsite all day, although there are certain times when you will need to be available.

The preferred minimum stay is one month, although shorter periods may also be considered.

Applicants will need a current National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People Card.
