Eva Valley Meats, approximately 1.5 hours from Darwin, is looking for an experienced part-time butcher to join its on-farm abattoir team.

Eva Valley Meats is the Northern Territory’s first paddock-to-plate beef cattle processing facility, supplying quality restaurants in Darwin as well as private customers.

The position is approximately 20–30 hours per week, working with a small team of 2–4 people to prepare and complete weekly customer orders.

Ideally, the business is looking for someone who can stay through to the end of 2026, although experienced butchers who are available immediately for just a few weeks are also encouraged to apply.

The role

✅ Breaking down beef carcasses
✅ Preparing and processing meat for customer orders
✅ Making smallgoods
✅ Maintaining high food-safety and hygiene standards
✅ Working closely with the small processing team
✅ Slaughter work if suitably experienced

What they’re looking for

Applicants will need:

✅ Proven experience breaking down beef carcasses
✅ Experience making smallgoods
✅ Excellent hygiene and food-handling standards
✅ Good communication skills
✅ Pride in producing a high-quality product

Slaughter experience would be highly regarded, although it is not essential.

Eva Valley Meats places a strong emphasis on the ethical production and provenance of its beef and buffalo, so this role would particularly suit someone who takes pride in their trade and wants to be part of the complete paddock-to-plate process.
